Job Title: Facilities Assistant
FLSA: Non‐Exempt
Reports To: Facilities Manager
Job Summary:
The Facilities Assistant will support the Facilities manager by fulfilling routine light maintenance work orders such as room set up, moving office equipment and furniture, grounds work, and minor repairs at the properties and facilities of the Congregation in the St. Louis metro area. The properties and facilities are:
Province Office – 3701 Forest Park Avenue
Aquinas Institute ‐ 23 S Spring Avenue
Lazarist Residence – 13245 Tesson Ferry
St. Vincent’s Rectory – 922 Park Avenue
Vincentian Mission House – 3259 Lafayette Avenue
Vincentian Press (vacant) – 1405 S. 9th Street
Earth City Office (vacant) – 13663 Rider Train North
Duties:
1. Work with Facilities Manager to make sure that the buildings are in the best condition for the residents and employees who live / work there.
2. Perform minor and routine repairs including but not limited to painting and other related maintenance activities.
3. Attend to the grounds, maintaining a clean, well‐kept appearance to entryways and outdoor areas.
4. Promptly respond to requests for service and assistance.
5. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality.
Apply feedback to improve performance and monitor own work to ensure quality.
6. Observe safety and security procedures, determinate appropriate action beyond guidelines, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly. Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
7. Support organization’s goals and values.
Requirements:

- Ability to work at heights and in inclement weather conditions.

- Knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

Physical
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk up to 8‐hours per day; to climb ladders; lift up to
50 lbs.; operate power tools.
- Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, reach, climb, and lift heavy objects.
- Must be sighted and capable of hearing.
Working Conditions:
- This position may entail various shifts including evening and weekend work. On‐call responsibilities may be included.
- Exposure to various temperatures and weather conditions, dirt and grime, and mechanical equipment.
- Exposure to hazardous and caustic chemicals, detergents, and other related compounds.
- Exposure to moderate and/or heavy noise levels.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
