JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Office of Physical Plant Work Reception Center is currently seeking a Facilities Specialist who is highly motivated, a team player, and excels in customer service. The Work Reception Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. This position would be a part of the Weekend Overnight Team.

Th e Facilities Specialist position is responsible for receiving, processing, and dispatching emergency and routine maintenance requests from all areas and facilities of the University.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creating work orders in a customized database

  • Answering multiple phone lines

  • Utilizing a 2-way radio system to transmit and receive calls

  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers

  • Following detailed work procedures and policies to make informed decisions around emergency and routine maintenance

  • Utilizing a Call-Out system for union members to respond to emerging events on campus

  • Processing e-mail

  • Releasing physical keys and granting card access to internal and external customers

Covering shifts outside of your normal schedule and working overtime will be required due to the business needs of the Work Reception Center. This position will be scheduled and expected to work all PSU University established holidays and campus closure days.

NOTE: Work hours total 40 hours a week. This position will cover overnight shifts , below is the schedule :

  • Thursday, 11:00PM - Friday 7:00AM

  • Friday, 11:00PM - Saturday 7:00AM

  • Saturday, 7 :00 PM - Sunday , 7:00 AM.

  • Sunday , 7 :00 PM - Monday , 7:00 AM.

Education and Experience:

Typically requires an associate degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications and skills to be successful in this position are:

  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Ability to multitask

  • Experience with various computer applications including Microsoft Office 365

  • B ackground using customized databases

  • C ustomer service experience

  • G eneral understanding of building facilities and mechanical systems are preferred.

  • A positive and willing to learn attitude
