• The Embrace Family Intervention Specialist works closely with families whose children have recently been reunified or families who are at imminent risk of having their children removed from the home due to abuse or neglect.
• The Family Intervention Specialist works with 4-6 families at a time for 3-4 month intervals as they assist the families in accessing community resources, ensuring safe housing, teaching and reinforcing positive parenting, developing crisis management skills, developing budgeting, etc.
• The Family Intervention Specialist meets with their assigned families in person and is available to them by phone. The program provides services to families in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton Counties.
• This Family Intervention Specialist will be assigned to families in Okaloosa/Walton counties.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Human and Child Development, or a related field required.
• No less than one (1) year of related paid experience working with children, families, and youth is required.
• Must be able to travel extensively over a multi-county delivery area, work flexible hours, and participate in an on-call rotation with other staff to address family emergencies as they arise.
• A valid driver’s license from the state of residence, reliable transportation, and a driving record will allow coverage on the UMCH insurance policy required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing using the English language required.
