Higgs Fletcher & Mack LLP, one of San Diego’s oldest and most prestigious downtown law firms, has an opening for an experienced litigation Paralegal in our Family Law practice group. Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Responsibilities:

· Knowledge of family law rules of court and local rules and procedures for filing and lodging documents as well as filing deadlines

· Sufficient knowledge of family law pleadings required for dissolution, paternity and restraining orders

· Prepare pleadings, motions, financial disclosures, settlement agreements, and other correspondence, including Bates stamping of exhibits

· Draft declarations, answer and propound discovery, draft settlement and trial briefs, analyze financial records, and navigate through the local rules of court while keeping on top of deadlines

· Significant client contact – in person, by telephone and by e-mail

· Intake of new clients, preparing engagement letters and handling retainers

· Perform administrative support functions, such as scanning documents, e-mailing documents to clients, maintaining client files, meeting with clients, etc.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree or a Paralegal Certificate preferred

· Minimum of two years of family law paralegal experience

· High integrity, hard worker with a "no task is too small" and “How Can I Help?” attitude

· Strong administrative skills and attention to detail

· Experience with iManage, Compulaw, Forms Workflow, Westlaw, and/or other comparable programs is a must

· Professional appearance and professional communication with clients and co-workers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
