“FF&S Machine Operator”
Reports To: Terminal Manager
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect railcars for obvious damage, tampering of seals and vented hatches
- Sample railcar and inspect samples for contamination issues
- Review the packout and labels for accuracy against the customer instructions
- Ensure correct packaging supplies are pulled and that there are enough supplies available to complete the R/C before energizing the blowers
- Responsible for railcar connect and disconnect. This includes:
- Connecting the hoses and tying them to car
- Installing filters
- Putting catch pans and jack stands in place
- Starting the blowers
- Start the line and fill bags per instructions from packout
- Make sure purge requirements are met and purge is labeled and put away correctly
- Oversee the fork lift operator and FF&S line laborers
- Ensure work area is cleaned throughout shift and free of any debris
- Move and spot railcars based on packaging schedule
- Enforce safety guidelines (eye protection, seat belts, etc.)
- Make sure track mobile and forklift checks are conducted daily
- Notify terminal manager of any maintenance issues
- Upon completion of R/C verify packaged quantity and warehouse location of product
- When R/C is completed close caps and hatches and place yellow zip tie on outlet tubes of empty compartments
- Complete each packout on the NOAX unit
- Include supply lot numbers as required
- Include railcar seal and sample information
- Note any downtime in the NOAX logs
- Daily scale check and log
- Ensure system is cleaned between product type changes

- 1.0 RFI per 100 million lbs packaged
- 98% compliance with procedures as measured by random audits
- 98.8% meeting the customer’s packaging needs as measured by RFI’s and packaging schedule
- 80% Supplies reconciliation within tolerance – first pass
- 98% attendance outside of scheduled PTO
- 21,212 lbs packaged per man-hour
- Zero safety incidents
Break Through Outcomes
- 0.5 RFI per 100 million lbs packaged
- 100% compliance with procedures as measured by random audits
- 100% meeting the customer’s packaging needs as measured by RFI’s and packaging schedule
- 100% Supplies reconciliation within tolerance – first pass
- 100% attendance outside of scheduled PTO
- 23,000 lbs packaged per man-hour
- Zero safety incidents
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
