Field Technology Specialist
Job description
Job Goal: Provide level 1 technical support for applicable applications and devices. Assist staff in the efficient, effective and appropriate use of technology equipment and networks. This role will work closely with staff to identify, troubleshoot and remediate problems found with SASED systems. Will garner relationships with staff, member districts and vendors to expedite problem solving.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivated
- Demonstrated ability to manage tasks to required deadlines
- Experience with Google, Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS
- Experience with basic networking concepts
- Experience with help desk systems
- Prior experience working with adult learners

- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills which foster good working relationships with internal and external users
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Working knowledge and experience with computers, printers and software applications
- Working knowledge and experience with hardware, projection devices, telecommunications, multimedia technology, printers and multifunction copiers
- Expertise in Microsoft Office/Google applications
- Working knowledge of remote access systems
- Skills, aptitude and physical ability to perform assigned duties including, but not limited to, setting up computers and peripherals
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Proven ability to work independently and be organized
- Maturity to maintain confidential information of staff
- Ability to maintain a positive and flexible attitude toward daily responsibilities
- Ability to respond to emergency technology needs after hours
- Ability to drive throughout DuPage County to all SASED locations (mileage reimbursed)
Essential Functions:
- Provide Tier 1 technical support for applicable applications and devices as needed
- Ensure that all SASED Programs, Services and Departments are supported and technology issues are resolved
- Assist with maintenance of departmental offices, administrative and program computers using multiple platforms and operating systems including: software repair, hardware repair, software installation, hardware installation, software updates, software troubleshooting, hardware troubleshooting
- Utilize Help Desk to respond in a timely manner to all technology requests to maximize cooperative efficiency
- Maintain, update, and assist with imaging cooperative computer hardware
- Troubleshoot computer and network related problems throughout the cooperative
- Set up new hardware including unpacking, connecting to network and loading software
- Assist faculty and staff in the installation and use of special peripheral devices including printers, scanners, interactive devices, digital cameras and projection devices.
- Assist faculty and staff in the preparation of multimedia presentations (hardware and software)
- Ensure the disposal of obsolete hardware and software is handled quickly and in an environmentally friendly way
- Meet schedules and deadlines
- Support dissemination and modeling of best practices through day-to-day collaboration
- Understand and utilize equipment and software inventories
- Assist with projects relating to any technology functions

Terms of Employment: 259 day work year at compensation set by the SASED Board of Control.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the SASED Board of Control policy on evaluation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
