Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, tracking, execution, and reporting of existing High Power Microwave projects.
    • This includes but not limited to assisting in the test site design, managing test site configuration, assessing/addressing project risks, and managing the project’s schedule.
  • Increase the Air Force Research Laboratory capacity to perform High Power Microwave experiments by working with Air Force Research Laboratory headquarters and Federal Aviation Administration on long term frequency clearances and Electronic Attack documents
  • Increase the ability to deploy High Power Microwave technology by working with Foreign Disclosure Office and Program Offices to provide frequency clearance information to be evaluated by foreign governments
  • Review test plans for High Energy Laser and High Power Microwave experiments.
  • Assist/conduct in-person reviews of Standard Operating Procedures developed for laser and microwave experimentation facilities.
  • Operate basic High Power Microwave and laser data acquisition systems owned by the government.
  • Operate quadcopters to support field testing of counter unmanned aerial systems at Kirtland AFB and at other test sites such as White Sands Missile Range. Training and certification provided by the Air Force.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Software Engineering are preferable, comparable work experience desired
  • Field test experience desirable
  • Spectrum management experience highly desirable
  • Quadcopter pilot experience desirable, but not required
  • Top SECRET clearance highly desirable; must be able to acquire SECRET clearance at minimum


Travel

  • Most work will be performed at Kirtland AFB. Anticipate 1-3 two-week trips annually to support DE field testing. Travel could be to an OCONUS location. Anticipate a handful of site surveys and/or interface meetings at other government facilities.
