The Mental Health Association of Frederick County (MHA) is seeking to fill the position of Finance Manager. This position is responsible for accounting and financial reporting for the agency in coordination with MHA’s outsourced accounting firm and ensuring compliance with required reports and tax returns with appropriate local, state, or federal agencies including annual Maryland charitable registration renewal. The Finance Manager will develop and monitor the agency, program, grant, and foundation budgets, ensure compliance with terms and conditions of grants and contracts, interface with the auditors, prepare audit work papers and year-end journal entries, and ensure compliance with internal control and fiscal policies. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reconciling investment accounts, analyzing and reviewing general ledger accounts, preparing and posting journal entries, analyzing monthly financial statements, establish allocation methods that comply with GAAP and grantor requirements, administer the agency property, liability and worker’s compensation insurance and supervise accounting staff.

Qualified applicants will have a BA/BS degree in business, nonprofit financial management or accounting preferred, five or more years of experience managing grants and nonprofit finances required, sophisticated nonprofit fund and federal grant accounting and management strongly preferred, budgeting experience required, proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets and data management systems required, excellent communication and problem solving skills. Pay: $68,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
