Job description

We are seeking an experienced Technician to join our team! Candidate must be able to follow direction, be reliable, respectful and cooperative, and have the ability to work independently in our manufacturing facility in Totowa, NJ.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and meet the educational and experience requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be familiar with finishing equipment and able to maintain workspace and equipment in a professional manner.
• Familiar with commercial blast, spot blast and near white metal surface prep.
• Grinding and polishing sheet metal surfaces and welded parts to smooth finishes such as #4 grains through #8 grains and creating mirror like finishes when required.
• Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment.
• Familiar with, and appropriately use a variety of hand tools and machinery as required.
• Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 – 3 years of metal finishing/polishing experience required
• 1 -- 3 years of metal sandblast experience required

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Hearing and vision abilities appropriate to job description, including distance, color and depth perception.
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
On an average 8-hour day this position requires the ability to lift 1-50 pounds, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms at or above shoulder height and below waist height, use hands to handle or feel, reach climb or balance, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb, hear, and smell. Specific vision requirements including reading of written documents, visual inspection of materials and use of computer monitor screen occasionally.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
