We are hiring for a Fire Alarm Apprentice to join our growing team! We are looking for someone that enjoys working as team and with our customers to ensure that all requests are handled correctly and to the highest standards for a positive experience.
In this role you will:
- Assist in inspection and testing of fire alarm systems
- Occasionally assist in inspection and testing of emergency/exit light systems
- Occasionally assist in inspection and testing of clean agent suppression systems
- Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations.
- Work in compliance with the Company's safety program
- Adhere to company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations and laws
- Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
- Maintain clean and organized vehicle. Keep vehicle stocked with parts, equipment, and supplies necessary to perform the job
- Ensure that all internal and external customers and co-workers receive outstanding service by friendly and professional conduct
- Adhere to company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations and laws
- Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
- Approximately 20% of time will spent performing duties of the Fire Extinguisher Technician
- Perform inspection, testing, service, and repairs as required for all types of fire extinguishers as mandated by Standards and codes, manufacturer requirements, and expectations and requirements of the company

- Communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and customers, and display excellent interpersonal skills and awareness of controversial and/or sensitive issues
- Self-motivated and able to work independently once trained
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate Computer/Windows PC/MS Office Suite and smartphone technology
- Familiarity with basic hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
- Comply with safety requirements of the position and actively promote safe work practices
- ICC FE to be obtained within 6 months
- NICET 1 (Fire Alarm Systems or Fire Alarm Test and Inspect) to be obtained within 12 months of date of hire
- NICET 2 (Fire Alarm Systems or Fire Alarm Test and Inspect) to be obtained within 24 months of date of hire
- WA EL-O6 license to be obtained within 30 months of date of hire
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift/push/pull and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Frequently lift and carry toolboxes, tools, equipment, parts, cabling, and/or wiring
- Frequent ladder climbing, often while carrying up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and stretching
