DSHS FFA Fiscal Specialist - Temporary
The Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration (FFA), Consolidated Business Services is looking to hire a temporary Fiscal Specialist 1 located in Lakewood, WA. You’ll provide administrative support to Fiscal Analyst Manager in processing and record-keeping involved with Western State Hospital Local Funds.
You will be required to be in the office 2 days a week.
Some of what you'll do:
Process fiscal calculations, cashiering duties, daily reconciliations and audits, order cash, generate checks and prepare deposits- Disburse cash and verify receipts and cash for transactions
- Work with Local Fund, Patient Trust, Welfare, Petty Cash and Miscellaneous Fund accounts
- Verify client and fund information and post daily withdrawal transactions
- Maintain scheduling and issuance of Local Fund Purchasing Cards
- Verify and prepare ward cash weekly draws and cash requests for Therapeutic Funds
- Provide technical assistance to managers, supervisors and employees on the appropriate use of local funds
At least 3 years of fiscal record keeping experience or equivalent education/experience.
Desired:
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and the ability to apply accounting techniques
- Ability to process large quantities of fiscal data with accuracy and efficiency
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to learn specialized computer systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; basic math skills, and the use of a 10 key calculator
