Description:
- Ensures the development, compliance, and certification of HACCP and other food safety programs for Soli Organic Inc.
- Ensures operations compliance with national organic regulations
- Ensures the site delivers the required standards of food safety and quality according to SO policies, procedures, and practices
- Ensures that product adheres to corporate quality standards
- Performs detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry, company, and customer standards
- Implements methods to inspect, test and evaluate products
- Leads the facility in third party and customer audit preparation. Facilitates all food safety audit events.
- Responsible for the delivery of continuous improvement and working with Corporate Food Safety in the execution of company programs.
- Delivers all accountabilities through the direct involvement with operations support personnel.
- Ensures environmental monitoring program compliance and sanitation compliance.
- Ensures key traceability, vendor management, and environmental program metrics are established, and the delivery of the established metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
- Ensures adherence to the required food safety laws, regulations, corporate policies, and practices.
- Adheres to all Company’s procedures and policies.
- Responsible for vendor management related to food safety.
- Responsible for supporting the talent management process for hourly employees. Proactively engages in the development and training of hourly labor and support.
- Conducts workplace safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance
- Evaluates performance, identifies corrective actions, and implements follow up assessments
- Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs
- Ensures all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good manufacturing practices
- Has direct contact with Corporate Workplace Safety Lead to promote new and existing safety initiatives
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associates degree in food science, microbiology, or related field of study
- In lieu of education requirement, at least 1 year of on-the-job food safety experience can be considered
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365 programs
- 2+ Yrs. of prior professional Food Safety experience
- Previous HACCP/PCQI certification program designing and implementation
- General knowledge of OSHA safety rules and regulations
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people
- Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization
- Food processing experience
- Experience in managing processes
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
