ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Food Preparation: Responsible for preparation of week day lunches and dinners for clients/staff and the preparation and cooking of other needed food as assigned by the Manager of Food Service. Responsible for all special week day lunch requests, field trips for Snow or off campus residential trips.
Food Distribution: Responsible for the stocking and serving of the cafeteria lunch line. Responsible for assisting with inventory and ordering of needed food or supplies in assigned areas, and stocking items received from vendors. Delivers dinner with the Food Service Sanitation employee to the cottages.
Cleaning & Organization: Maintains cleanliness standards within the kitchen and the supply area. This
may include vacuuming, mopping floors and counters, cleaning of refrigerator/freezers, shelving, and other equipment in the absence of the Sanitation Assistant.
Documentation: Responsible for keeping an accurate and up to date book on all nutritional product information. (This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks). Responsible for assembling Cottage, Group Home and main kitchen information for the monthly USDA report, and maintaining other documentation needed for USDA reimbursement.
Special Projects: The Food Service Cook will ensure regulatory compliance with the CCBH. The Food Service Cook may be assigned additional duties involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special food service requests for special events, department specific projects or seasonal program changes. Will assist with summer program lunch preparation and coordination.

PERFORMANCE/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work involves prolonged periods of standing, preparing meals, washing dishes, and involves some lifting of supplies and catering trays up to 50 pounds. It also involves bending, stooping, walking, and carrying.
- Interacts verbally with coworkers, representatives from outside agencies, and clients.
- Must possess the ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
- English reading, writing and basic mathematical skills required
- Attention to detail and confidentiality required.
- Driving supplies/food to and from various locations.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum age of 18 years and a valid Ohio Drivers License is required. H.S. diploma or GED preferred. This job requires the ability to cook; math used in cooking (amounts, conversions, and measurements), and the ability to use kitchen equipment. Previous experience is preferred.
