Mars Hill, ME – FT/Days – Permanent Opportunity
Job Description:
Immediate opening for a Food Service Cook to work for a well-established facility in Mars Hill. Excellent full-time schedule; multiple shifts available. Great opportunity for a team-oriented person with background in food service or nutrition management. Full-Time/Days; 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; $16.50 - $20.00/hr.
The Food Service Cook will oversee all food production operations in the facility’s kitchen. Employee will work with a crew of up to six colleagues in the kitchen area, preparing meals and other food products to serve to staff and visitors on site. This individual will be responsible for following set guidelines for food preparation and ensuring that all work areas meet state and federal guidelines for safety and sanitation. Employee may be required to tend to other food preparation tasks as requested by site supervisor.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate meal preparation for visitors, staff, and clientele.
- Maintain high standards for sanitation in all areas.
- Ensure that all ingredients and food items are stored appropriately and in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Coordinate deliveries and food production in accordance with assignments from the site supervisor.
- Help control facility expenses through the use of standardized recipes, portion control, and other food prep specifications.
- Ensure that servers are adhering to proper holding temperatures for both hot and cold food items.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of ingredient consumption and food production activity.
- Ensure that all meals are served according to the facility’s dietary guidelines.
- Participate in department and staff meetings as required.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned by the site supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- At least 1 year of previous food service experience.
- Vaccinations and background check required.
Schedule: Full-Time/Days; 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
Pay: $16.50 - $20.00/hr., depending on experience.
