The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. JOB SUMMARY


The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott is seeking an experienced Director of Sales for our 86-room hotel which caters to the business and leisure travelers. The hotel and meeting space offers 2800 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space that can accommodate groups of varying size with a spacious pre-function area with seating and outdoor accessibility. This newly built hotel has been open for one year and is ready for the perfect Director of Sales to enhance our revenues.


This challenging position is responsible for leading the proactive sales efforts of the property while demonstrating outstanding associate and guest relations. As an essential member of the Sales department, the Director of Sales is responsible to assist in managing the Sales efforts for maintaining existing accounts and actively soliciting new business for the hotel, including business travel, group business and leisure travelers. The qualified candidate will be responsible for implementing strategies to generate revenues to maximize the financial expectations of the hotel.


This person will work very closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to maximize ADR, Occupancy and meeting room revenues for the property and must stay proactive and interact with all departments, especially Front Office and Food & Beverage


Additional requirements include, but are not limited to:2

  • Successful candidate MUST have a minimum of 3 years of hotel sales experience.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and possess a genuine desire to provide impeccable service to our various corporate and group clients.
  • Must be able to work additional hours outside of the traditional work schedule (evenings, weekends, and holidays) when/if business demands and be able to travel occasionally.
  • Manages accounts to achieve total guest satisfaction for all events. Heavy client interaction, conducting regular site tours and attendance at on-site functions.
  • Proactively respond to incoming leads and requests for proposals in a timely manner.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly occupancy and revenue forecast reports. Assist in preparation of annual budget and strategic sales plan.
  • Monitors the pricing of competitor properties, understands the dynamics of the local market and demand generators, and presents appropriate actions to the General Manager.
  • Utilizes yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitments to enhance the hotel's financial performance.
  • Maintains account information in sales database.
  • Completion of Banquet Event Orders/contracts in a timely manner.
  • Attendance at various sales-related departmental meetings.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients to produce group and/or meeting business, food & beverage sales, and catering/banquet sales.
  • Coordinate’s food and beverage prices, meeting room rental and function space services.
  • Accurately forecasts individual booking revenues, cancelations, and consumption on all bookings.
  • Supports the overall business and sales strategies of the company.
