The Front Desk Representative is the person who controls the patient and work flow at the clinical site for Same Day Surgery. This person is responsible for performing all activities at the front desk including, but not limited to, greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling patients, ensuring the provider’s schedules are timely and accurate; obtaining accurate, timely registration and insurance information; assisting clinicians with pre-certifications/referrals, faxes and chart preparation; providing clerical support to physicians, clinicians, mid-level providers and staff.

Work Hours/Shift:

Full time 40hrs Mon-Fri 7:00a-3:30p

You Will Be Responsible For :

  • Exceptional Patient Care : Greets patients/visitors to the medical practice in a pleasant, professional and efficient manner, and ensures that the wait period is comfortable. Schedules patient appointments for the practice and patient referrals.

  • Excellent Communicator : Processes calls to ensure patients/customers are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.

  • Strong Educator: Assists with the preparation of grant information and materials

  • Technical Familiarity: Prepares and maintains patient’s medical records. Obtains accurate registration and insurance information. Ensures all pre-certifications and referrals are done in a timely manner.

  • Active Teamwork : Ensures immediate resolution of problems, concerns and complaints of patients, families, visitors, co-workers, medical professionals and the public.

Requirements :

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • College coursework in the secretarial or medical sciences preferred.

  • Minimum of one year experience working in a physician’s office required, preferably in a similar capacity.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology required.
