Dr. Schar USA is a gluten-free manufacturing company located in Swedesboro, NJ, looking for an FSQA Coordinator to add to our Quality Assurance team!

Tasks:

• Oversee the facility’s controlled documentation system
• Create, edit, and update food safety & quality documentation with cross-functional teams as needed
• Check documents’ spelling, punctuation, and grammar; check formatting for conformity to document management system requirements
• Ensure that food safety and quality, production, and sanitation records are completed and turned in; Verify records for accuracy and completeness and follow-up with employees for corrective actions
• Coordinate with other departments and external parties (e.g. distributors, vendors, customers) to gather and provide appropriate food safety and quality documentation and additional requests
• Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and tracking consumer finished product complaints and communicating adverse trends to cross functional teams
• Coordinate the facility’s GMP audits, pest control program, pre-op inspections, and follow-up corrective actions
• Perform mock recalls and traces
• Review incoming material documentation to ensure it meets food safety and quality requirements and enter and maintain all information in appropriate systems
• Assist with documentation, preparation, and participation of internal and external audits (e.g. SQF), including corrective actions that may follow
• Assist with tracking and trending food safety, quality, and sanitation issues to identify reoccurring non-conformances and areas for improvement
• Assist with hold/release system for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging materials as needed
• Assist with development and continuing maintenance of the facility’s food safety plans
• Assist with root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and verification activities
• Assist with conducting employee training in topics such as GMPs, Food Defense, Allergens, etc.
• Provide coaching to production staff on food safety, quality systems, and day-to-day quality issues
• Drive continuous improvement in facility’s food safety, quality, and sanitation programs
• Comfortable working proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment
• Follows all company safety rules in performing job duties
• The job holder might be assigned to other tasks and duties if necessary

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Biological Sciences, Food Science, or related field required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in food manufacturing facility/industry require
• Knowledge of FDA food regulations, GMPs, Allergens, and Microbiology required
• Experience reviewing and writing policies and procedures required
• Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required
• HACCP & PCQI certification preferred
• Familiarity with SQF or other GFSI schemes desired
• Detail oriented
• Ability to coach, teach and lead others
• Ability to speak and write in Spanish desired
