Do you enjoy working with children? The Y is seeking a full time assistant teacher at the Rockport Y Childcare Center. Come join our team and help support the development of children as they grow and explore the world around them.

Schedule: Monday-Friday day time schedule

• Assist Head Teacher in the implementing of classroom activities.
• Supervise and monitor all classroom activity.
• Foster a healthy and safe classroom environment.
• Be aware of and adhere to all YMCA policies, DHHS licensing regulations, and NAEYC Accreditation Standards.
• Facilitate age appropriate, educational lessons on a daily basis under the direction of Head Teacher.
• Ensure that the classrooms are arranged in a functional and orderly manner.
• Develop and maintain a healthy relationship with parents and children.
• Assist in the ongoing evaluation process needed to assess the developmental levels of children.
• Provide appropriate guidance to children in need of redirection and relate well to children of all abilities.
• Perform necessary duties to ensure children’s comfort and well being (including diaper changing).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Direct child care experience, preferred
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date, willing to train the right candidate
• Must be at least 18 years old
