OVERVIEW:
The Maine Office of GIS team is looking to hire a motivated Information Technology professional who can lead technical teams, work with our Maine business clients to design, maintain, and support ESRI applications and represent our C.A.R.E. values in all that they do. At MaineIT we:

ABOUT THE JOB DETAILS:
This is advanced technical services work involving the analysis, design, development, and implementation of diverse, application systems. Responsibilities include system development, designing systems and/or enhancements to existing systems, debugging, documenting, and maintenance of multiple systems. Tasks will involve analysis, requirements gathering, and technical program design assignments. Some small project manager assignments will also be assigned.

You will work with a dedicated team of GIS professionals and key GIS stakeholders across state government as you enable their missions serving the people of Maine. This position is a hybrid remote/onsite position. The onsite location is in Augusta, Maine.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Your primary responsibility will be working with State agencies to leverage our Enterprise GIS offerings. This includes awareness of GIS tools available, working on requirements workflows as well as designing/developing GIS/Spatial solutions. This role also has a secondary responsibility of aiding with the administration of the State’s Enterprise ArcGIS software infrastructure.
Sample tasks you will undertake include:
- Manage scripts, models, and tools to support agency users of the GIS environment.
- Help design the architecture to accommodate new/emerging GIS technologies to meet State’s needs.
- Support the deployment of geographic information components, data services and applications within the State’s secure IT infrastructure to meet industry and department standards defined in the MaineIT governance policies.
- Administer the enterprise GIS and the MEGIS geodatabases for Microsoft SQL Server.
- Install, configure, tune, monitor and maintain the State’s geodatabase and enterprise GIS software.
Employees in this classification are competent to work at the highest technical level under limited supervision.
Preference will be given to candidates who display a high-level skill set in the following areas: Teamwork, strong oral and written Communication, Customer Service, Problem Solving, gathering business requirements, administration of ArcGIS Enterprise in a Windows server environment, experience with ArcGIS Online capabilities and support of web application development and ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE administration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience).
A four (4) year combination of higher level programming and or systems analysis and design experience. A Master’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science may be substituted for two (2) years of programming experience.

SALARY:
JOB CLASS CODE: 0867 POSITION: 015104897 PAY GRADE: 27 - ($61,297.60 - $82,867.20/yr.)*
- Includes a 15% recruitment and retention salary adjustment. In addition to the above base salary this position is eligible for a training bonus applied for the duration of employment in this position.
