Our Team
This role reports into the Global Scientific Communications team within Global Medical Immunology, which is part of Sanofi’s Specialty Care organization. Our Medical function serves as a key strategic partner with commercial, regulatory, clinical, and market access on therapeutic solutions to support patients’ needs. Within the Global Medical Immunology team, we are proud to support Sanofi’s unrelenting commitment to scientific exploration and to work on a robust pipeline of potential first-in-class treatments and other novel therapies in development for chronic dermatologic, respiratory, and gastrointestinal diseases.
Main responsibilities
Reporting to the Global Scientific Director, this key role will ensure successful development and execution of strategic publication plans, medical communications/education plans for multiple immunology pipeline products for Sanofi in development in rheumatology, through:
Developing strategically aligned, balanced, and accurate scientific communication points to guide the development of internal and external global and local publication & medical communications/education
Leading cross-functional scientific publication planning efforts and ensuring appropriate documentation, review, and approvals of global publication plans and associated transparency reporting
Managing the development of abstract submissions to medical and scientific congresses, posters, and platform presentations, manuscripts, and journal digital publication enhancements for a number of products in development
Overseeing Publication agency partners and medical writers, reinforcing execution within industry and company guidelines/policies, and real-time documentation of all publication planning and execution activities within iEnvision system.
Overseeing the consistent, accurate, and timely development and submission of scientific publications in accordance with publication objectives, scientific communication platforms/priorities, data transparency requirements, strategic data dissemination plans, and aligned with intellectual property considerations
Serving as an expert on good publication best practices, compliance, and company publications policy, with strong understanding of GPP and ICMJE to foster the development of compliant, accurate, and timely publications.
Leading cross-functional medical communication/education publication planning efforts
Ensuring delivery of high-quality, fair-balanced, scientifically/clinically accurate medical communications resources including, scientific platforms, lexicons, and FAQs/trainings and disease backgrounders in accordance with established timelines, compliance guidelines/policies, and budgets
Developing global medical education plans based on medical strategies and identified HCP educational gaps
Designing and developing educational content, in collaboration with internal partners and external HCP experts, for live education programs, congress symposia, online/digital education, multi & omnichannel HCP education, field medical tools, slide decks, and medical booth exhibits
Establishing and maintaining professional and collaborative relationships with KOLs involved in publications & medical education
Forecasting annual publication/med com/education budgets and resource needs, contracting for agency support, and managing finance reconciliations, invoicing, and accruals
Appropriately communicating the status of global publication plans/publication tactics and med com/med ed plans/activities to relevant stakeholders
Education
Advance degree in life sciences or pharmaceutical sciences (PhD, PharmD, MD)
Experience
Minimum 2 years experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
Track record of successfully developing peer-reviewed publications
Experience in publications management and familiarity with Datavision/iEnvision
Vendor, project timeline, and budget management experience is necessary
Knowledge of industry guidelines pertaining to data dissemination (e.g., CONSORT, ICMJE, GPP) and interactions with health care providers (e.g., PhRMA Code, AdvaMed guidelines) and digital/medical educational (e.g., EFPIA/IFPMA)
Expertise in Rheumatology and/or Immunology preferred

Ability to critically analyze, interpret, and communicate complex medical/scientific data
Ability to understand and comply with regulations
Able to effectively collaborate and communicate with stakeholders regarding the planning and development publication deliverables
Strong project management skills and the ability to oversee agency partners and associated budget
Must be independent, multi-tasking, organized, and able to act as a leader in a fast-paced environment
