Job Description Summary
Facilitate and oversee the enjoyment of the golf experience by providing instruction, coordination of tee times and tournaments, as well as marketing merchandise and services. Must maintain excellent customer service, as well as train and direct the Player Services Team.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manage assigned facilities of FiveStar Lifestyles while providing and encouraging gold as a leisure activity as well as a group participation sport.
  • Supervise and train golf associates.
  • Schedule assign and monitor work while evaluating performance, disciplining associates and preparing and submitting time cards.
  • Oversee management of business transactions, accounting, purchasing, budgeting and inventory of assigned facilities.
  • Effectively maintain public relations by representing The National in dealings with golf organizations, community organizations and the public.
  • Purchase, display and sell golf equipment, accessories and clothing.
  • Create and maintain a warm, inviting and professional atmosphere in the golf shop.
  • Retrieve and resell golf balls from the grounds and water holes of the course.
  • Manage snack bar/concessions contract and purchase, manage and maintain golf cart fleet.
  • Schedule all golf play, leagues and tournaments.
  • Enforce golf rules and regulations while policing the course to regulate play and conduct of all players, members and guests.
  • Provide, coordinate and instruct golf lessons to the general public using well-trained and experienced staff.
  • Collect, organize and interpret weekly, monthly and annual statistics on golf course revenue and rounds played while establishing and supervising operating policies and procedures for the assigned facilities.
  • Represent FiveStar Lifestyles in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in the golf industry.
  • Experience teaching and coaching various golf skill sets.
  • Thorough and working knowledge of the rules and strategies of the game of golf.
  • Experience with financial planning and accounting.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
