Under the direction of the Supervisor of Strategic Grants Development and Management, the Grants Technician II will perform diverse and complex technical and administrative duties to support program managers and sponsors throughout the grant lifecycle to increase the accountability and effective development and management of grants and ensure program compliance. The Grants Technician II will develop professional development events and conduct training on best practices for grants managers to provide technical assistance and support grants development and management. The Grants Technician II will manage and oversee regularly reporting of the grant status to executive sponsors and district leadership.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Provides training and support to grant program managers;
- Maintains a current list of grant program managers and alternate grant program managers;
- Supports the development of tailored professional development for new and current program managers;
- Acts as an administrator for the grants website ensuring information is accurate, timely and intuitive to assist PGCPS grant managers and sponsors;
- Manages an organized manual file system of critical grant documents and/or ensures electronic repository is current and comprehensive of key documents relative to all major grants;
- Manages the solicitation and review of Time and Effort Reports to ensure compliance to grant requirements;
- Facilitates grant compliance through alerts and escalations on upcoming proposal and reporting deadlines;
- Maintains accurate and current records of key attributes of major system grants including grant program managers and alternate grant program managers to provide timely grant reports to requesting stakeholders;
- Supports the archival and secure destruction of grant documentation in accordance with the terms and conditions of the grant;
- Supports on-site technical assistance sessions for new grant awardees and/or program managers;
- Supports the grants development and management specialists and cross-functional grant support teams in addressing concerns and implementation issues and providing executive status reports during the grant period;
- Supports the review of mid-year and annual performance reports prior to submission to funding agencies;
- Supports the development and documentation of PGCPS methodologies and a Program Manager Toolkit to manage all major aspects of grants;
- Supports the facilitation and completion of the grant lifecycle, to include pre-award, award and post-award activities, and/or reports and PGCPS lessons learned documentation;
- Supports the internal signature process of grant documents through tracking and monitoring the status of approval using database/grant application;
- Processes all incoming grant submissions to provide initial review of grammar, proper format and content; and
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding grants, grant agency requirements, and grant criteria for a large public school system, State or federal agency;
- Ability to provide technical assistance to program managers on the correct format, terminology, and procedures for preparing grant submissions to funders;
- Knowledge of administrative methods and strategies to select, modify, or develop responses to meet unexpected or complex grant conditions;
- Ability to submit documents electronically by using external submission applications; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and web development software.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of high school diploma or GED required. Minimum of four (4) years of Grants Management work experience; business school, office practice course work, and college courses preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
