Job description

The Graphic Designer is responsible for the design of print collateral that supports the Stonewall Kitchen Family of Brands and the company’s overall communication/marketing plan. They have an excellent sense of design principals, layout and typography as well as a strong graphic eye with attention to detail. They should be highly organized and able to work independently under tight deadlines. A background designing packaging is a plus.

JOB SUMMARY

1. Expert skills in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat.

2. Uncompromising eye for detail, color, composition, and typography.

3. Design, comp, preflight and produce company catalogs for our Retail and Wholesale divisions as well as company labels and packaging, marketing collateral, trade and consumer print ads, signage, brochures, posters, etc.

4. Develop and prepare digital pre-press material, including the creation of graphic files, camera-ready art and Internet-ready artwork.

5. Review proofs and final materials with precise detail when received from printer.

6. Adhere to brand guidelines and work with your direct supervisor and the Creative Director on enhancements and updates.

7. Work well within a collaborative team environment.

8. Ability to manage concurrent projects and stay within the design schedule.

9. Print and cut large format collateral as well as internally printed labels as needed.

10. Travel to attend press checks when necessary.

EXPECTATIONS

1. B.A. in graphic design with minimum of 3+ years related experience with demonstrated working knowledge of layout, including type and photography, and strong prepress knowledge.

2. Strong computer skills with proficiency InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office on Mac OS as well as basic knowledge and skill in web design. Must be able to work in “CMYK” multilayered Photoshop files.

3. Ability to take a project from concept through final production with strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

4. Must be able to generate professional-level packaging mockups for both internal and external use.
