Job Description

For the assigned accounts, act as the primary graphics contact and consultant for BPP Customer Service, Sales, Operations, and Customers. Accomplish this by thorough communication and representation of the needs and expectations of all parties involved.

Scope - to provide support to the facility with all graphics related process and procedures.

Duties

- Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.

- Recreates art from sample or electronic files to our specifications and troubleshoots incoming digital files.

- Interacts with BPP Customer Service, Sales, Operations, and Customers (and their graphics agencies and/or customers) to collaborate on graphics orders to ensure they will be clear and accurate about the art and re-producible on the press.

- Communicates by phone, in person, e-mail, and voice-mail with all involved parties to facilitate satisfaction of all needs and expectations; including timing, quality, and cost.

- Supports a 24/7 operation by fielding questions via phone during non-business hours. The GA is expected to have the flexibility to support their projects during off-hours.

- Enters detailed information from Graphics Orders into order tracking systems; i.e. File Maker, Job History, and GSR. Also be able to understand Order Status, Plate Spec, Color Folder and Spec Viewer.

- Completes a quality review on Proofs prior to their shipment to customers.

- Submits clear instructions to those who are responsible for completing separations and trapping.

- Handles QC for digital, film and/or plates for imperfections.

- Monitors invoicing data to ensure complete and accurate data.

- Manages graphics projects in a manner that will at times include plant site interaction with customers, Customer Service staff or Printing staff during non-standard working hours.

- Participates in on-site press approvals.

- Promotes and or participates in high performance work teams throughout the organization in accordance with World Class Operations Management initiatives and promotes department participation.

- Other tasks assigned as by the Graphics Manager.

Requirements

- Proficient on Macintosh computers, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator and other Creative Suite software is preferred.

- Basic and knowledge of MS-Excel, MS-Word, and MS-Outlook.

- Knowledge of File Maker and Esko software an advantage.

- Strong communications skills, both oral and written, to successfully interact with Customer Service, Sales, Operations, Customers, Vendors, outside Design Agencies, and Bemis Graphics personnel.

- Strong administrative and organizational skills to handle a large volume of work-flow (paper and/or electronic) and determine and/or respond appropriate priorities.

- Ability to work in multi-task, multi-priority, high volume, and high velocity environment, with minimal supervision and direction.

- Exhibited conscientious attention to detail, through successful work in similar environments.

- Must have a pleasant personality, professional appearance, tact, and the ability to effectively communicate.

- Able and willing to work over-time on planned or short-notice, and in some periods, significant and on-going, to complete given projects, or to respond to surges, seasonal or otherwise, in business volume.

- Basic knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques (WCOM).

- Good level of business acumen as it relates to graphics

- An Associate’s Degree in graphics or related field or equivalent experience, with 3-5 years of experience in related graphics and/or printing.
