Job description
McGee Air Services, an Alaska Airlines company, is looking for a General Manager at SFO.
The pay range is $90,905.00-$115,000.00 annually.
The General Manager Operations San Francisco (SFO) airport provides leadership and strategic support for the operation, leadership, and administrative team. This role will lead and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of McGee's San Francisco operation, including managers responsible for the day-to-day station operations and administrative functions. The General Manager is responsible for building a collaborative team, who creates a culture of mutual respect and teamwork while keeping safety and service at the core of everything we do. This role is key in developing a high-performance team by creating and leading initiatives encompassing recognition, performance, and ever-improving safety culture. This position reports directly to the Director, Station Operations.

The must haves to join our team:
- Obtaining and maintaining an airport security clearance, customs seal, and/or USPS security clearance including background criminal history check, drug screen, and fingerprinting required
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record required
- Able to work varied shifts; weekends and holidays
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to get along with others
- Performing work according to set procedures
- Anticipating the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding and ability to utilize electronic tools to interpret flight schedules and airline flight destination information
- Performing basic mathematical functions (e.g., counting bags, verifying cargo weights)
- Ability to give/receive oral instructions in English
- Lifting up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have the ability to operate and get into equipment safely
- Must have a valid driver's license and one of the following documents to be qualified for this position.
- Original or certified copy of a birth certificate
- Unexpired US Passport
- Permanent Resident Card
- Unexpired US Territory Passport and I-94
- Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
- Important update for non-crew employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. - Oversee all facets of the operational and financial performance of station, monitoring performance against planned objectives and compliance guidelines, and initiate corrective actions to help ensure performance
metrics are achieved - Prepare operational plans and manage daily work schedules in support of a 24/7 operation in accordance with the labor contract
- Ensure robust systems are in place for team member training and qualification so they are fully prepared to perform assigned duties
- Investigate, report, and develop strategies to eliminate delays, irregularities, safety, and compliance concerns quickly and efficiently
- Ensure compliance with company policies and all regulations of federal, state, and local airport authorities
- Develop positive relationships with key customers, reinforcing our commitment to customer service and regularly validating that we are meeting/exceeding expectations
- Establish and maintain a culture that encourages open communication, where all team members feel valued, connected, and engaged in the success of the operation

Do you match this skillset?...
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Three (3) plus years of hands-on leadership experience, including experience leading large groups of team members in a fast-paced, service-focused environment required
- A minimum of four (4) years of airline experience with proven skills in airport station operations, including one of he following areas: passenger service, cargo handling, fleet service, or ground operations preferred
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Experience with building and developing teams required
- Professional work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all workgroups while addressing people courageously, directly, and candidly
- Proven ability to direct the work of others in a positive way
- Able to lead and successfully communicate with diverse workgroup and other internal departments
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
