Position Title: Group Sales Manager, Cape Leisure Silver Springs, LLC

Reports To: General Manager

Supervises: Sales Coordinators

Overview: Cape Leisure seeks an attractions sales professional to oversee its group sales efforts. Key client markets are youth and educational field trips, corporate groups/company picnics, tour & travel groups including receptive operators and bus groups, senior markets, associations and government groups.

Cape Leisure provides visitor services at beautiful Silver Springs State Park under a concession agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. These services include the world-famous Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Paddling Adventures canoe and kayak rentals on the Silver River, retail, and food & beverage including catering and special events management.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Manages all aspects of Cape Leisure Silver Springs’ group sales programs directed toward school field trips and youth groups, senior groups, tour & travel markets, clubs, associations and corporate groups.

· Working closely with Cape Leisure’s general manager at Silver Springs, as well as Cape Leisure corporate staff, provides strategic direction for the group sales efforts. This includes balancing sales efforts against best group sales opportunities and creating group experiences and activities targeting each market.

· Plan and execute marketing and sales strategies to attract group visits from target markets, including pricing strategies.

· Implement procedures and policies to successfully execute successful group visits in coordination with the Cape Leisure and state park staff. This includes posting all group visits to the park’s daily calendar of events.

· Manage activities of up to two sales assistants.

· Work closely with park’s front gate/ticketing staff to successfully receive groups upon arrival at the park.

· Some group events will include catering elements. The successful candidate will work closely with the park’s wedding/special events manager and the food & beverage staff to coordinate catered elements of group visits.

· Seeks out and receives Florida Department of Environmental Protection approval for all marketing elements prior to public dissemination.

· Adheres to and enforces all Cape Leisure policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to food quality and safety, employee and guest safety, environmental and financial controls.

· Ensure that company assets, including equipment, money and inventories, are properly protected.

· Acts as a Manager on Duty in the absence of the General Manager, directing all Cape Leisure Silver Springs operations during that time.

· Other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

· Minimum of two years’ sales experience in attractions/hospitality industry.

· Excellent writing skills required.

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

· Basic accounting skills.

· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency with general office computer software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend for an entire 8 hour shift. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs.

· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and carry for short distances.

· Must be willing to tolerate working outdoors and in warm interior environments.

· Must be able to visually inspect condition of facilities and equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
