The Los Altos YMCA is looking for a cardio & strength interval class instructor to teach a group fitness to YMCA members. T We are also looking for spin instructor substitute instructors as well.Responsibilities will include: 1. Leading group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.2. Conducting energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes.3. Building effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.4. Maintaining a working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.We are looking for an instructor who demonstrates a desire to serve others and fulfill community needs. Building rapport and relating to the students is important. The YMCA staff strives to meet or exceed goals and deliver a high-value experience for members and participants. Experience teaching group fitness classes.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.CPR/First Aid certification required.National certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification preferred.Working Conditions: Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (e.g. childcare and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
