Job Summary:
Blavity Inc. is looking for a Growth Content Marketer who will be responsible for sourcing and developing unique and thumb-stopping social media content which attracts, converts, and increases web traffic and brand awareness for Blavity Inc brands. This position partners with various teams in the content ideation and posting schedule process. The ideal candidate has experience creating and scheduling content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other various social media platforms. Must have a love for media, Black culture, social media, digital trends, emerging platforms, and storytelling and a strong understanding of Gen Z content consumption. Must also be comfortable being on camera (talking, acting, etc).
This is a 6-month 1099 Contract which will be overseen by the Content Marketing Associate Director.
Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment, including but not limited to laptop computers, cell phones, or any other electronic equipment required to perform their role
Responsibilities:
- Develop, source, and schedule thumb-stopping content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok & other various social media platforms
- Quickly adhere to covering breaking news with engaging and accurate posts in a fast-paced environment
- Source & edit existing content to keep it up-to-date and on brand
- Reference the brand guidelines and requirements when sourcing and creating content, ensuring social media posts are consistent with the brand voice, style and tone
- Responsible for meeting weekly growth goals to help drive traffic/engagement
- Work with the Content Marketing Management team and Editorial team to execute posting schedules
Qualifications:
- Education: Preferred BA/BS or relevant work experience
- Required Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience managing social media and/or content strategy for a variety of companies.
- Access to and experience with video editing a plus
- Additional Qualifications:
- Creative mindset that understands what Black audiences consume on social media and how to create it
- Experience creating content for the web and growing a social audience
- Ability to analyze traffic and engagement metrics and use data to make creative decisions
- Strong judgment and the ability to make decisions independently
- Yearning to constantly learn new things and improve on current methods
- Ability to work in a variety of media, meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust as circumstances change
- A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture
Details:
- This is a fully remote role.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends 100% in alignment to Pacific Time Zone.
- The hourly rate for this role is $25.
