Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Industry community
brings together business leaders to anticipate how innovative technologies, new business models and partnerships are transforming business’s ability to drive positive impact on the economy, society and the environment. The Head of the ICT Industry will be responsible for defining and implementing the agenda of the ICT Industry community and for developing a comprehensive portfolio of activities to deliver value to Forum Partner companies.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The Head of ICT Industry will report to the Head of the Global Industries Team.
Internally, the person will work with colleagues in our Business Engagement and Partner Development teams, the teams driving the work of relevant Centres, and the Heads of other Industry communities. Externally, with a broad range of stakeholders in Forum Partner and non-Partner companies, governments, academia, and civil society.
Responsibilities
- Work with Forum Partner companies to identify key priorities - strategic issues and opportunities for the ICT Industry community - and to develop a forward looking agenda and related calendar of activities in order to address them (Activities may range from dialogues series and deep-dives, to the incubation of new partnerships and initiatives in collaboration with relevant Forum’s Centres)
- Mobilise the ICT Industry community to share learnings and best practices, understand latest trends and implications for the sector, and generate new insights to help inform decisions and the development of future company strategies
- Maintain and animate the ICT Industry community by actively engaging Forum Partner companies in its activities, and by working in close collaboration with the Forum’s Partner Development teams to expand the community by attracting new relevant members through customized value propositions
- Engage with other industry communities of the Forum, and with public figures, civil society, and academia, and work with most relevant Forum’s Centres to help the ICT Industry community engage in existing initiatives or incubate new ones in order to address its priorities and agenda
The successful candidate will be assessed on
- Successful design and delivery of a coherent ICT Industry agenda and related calendar of activities
- Number and quality of activities driven in collaboration with other industry communities and relevant Forum’s Centres, and depth of engagement of the members of the ICT Industry community
- Retention of existing Forum Partner companies part of the ICT Industry community and acquisition of new members
- Ability to generate and disseminate new insights to position the Forum at the forefront of the conversations on the future of the ICT Industry
- Feedback from constituents on the fit of engagement and activities of the industry community to their specific needs
Preferred Requirements and Experience
- Strong academic background, including a master’s degree in business, economics, technology, or related disciplines
- 15+ years of professional experience, with demonstrated expertise in ICT, consulting, or related industries
- Excellent strategic acumen combined with the ability to work in a dynamic and demanding environment
- Proven agility, with a strong orientation for driving growth through innovative thinking and in changing environments
- Ability to build strong internal relationships and networks within complex organizations and multi-cultural environments
- Robust network-building skills with a passion for cultivating external relationships
- Demonstrated ability in coaching and developing teams
- Outstanding communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English
- Comfortable with frequent global travel
