Summary:
In this role, you will provide ICD-10 and CPT coding expertise for the development and enhancement of the organization’s data management, reporting and metric capabilities.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with analytic and clinical staff in the development of specialized lexicons.

Assist with the establishment of rules for data quality/quality scoring.

Support enhancements of risk adjustments, complications, AHRQ, HAC, POA, service lines and other methodologies or algorithms developed using health care claims data.

Comply with regulatory requirements of coding classifications and reimbursement methodologies to data usage and reporting.

Maintain proficiency in American Hospital Association (AHA) Coding Clinics, AHA Coding Clinic for Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Assistant, and official guidelines for coding and reporting.
Qualifications:

Relevant degree in related health information management field preferred. Advanced degree a plus.

5 or more years of relevant work experience required.

3 or more years of recent experience with health services coding in an Academic Medical Center/hospital as an inpatient or outpatient coder, coding manager or CDI Specialist required.

Coding Certification from a Nationally recognized organization (i.e. CCS, CPC, CPC-H, or other) for I-10 required.

Experience educating others on coding & documentation preferred.

RHIA-Registered Health Information Administrator or RHIT- Registered Health Information Technician certification preferred.

Knowledge and/or experience with the Vizient Clinical Data Base a plus.

Knowledge and/or experience with clinical data analysis and reporting a plus.

Working knowledge of CMS performance metrics preferred.

Estimated Hiring Range:
$88,900.00 - $132,250.00
