An X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using x-ray technology. The following is a general job description for an X-Ray Technician:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparing patients for x-ray examinations by explaining the procedure, answering any questions they may have, and obtaining informed consent.

Positioning patients and equipment to obtain the best possible images, and making any necessary adjustments to the equipment.

Operating x-ray equipment, ensuring that it is functioning correctly and that the images produced are of sufficient quality for interpretation.

Performing a variety of x-ray examinations, including chest x-rays, skeletal x-rays, and specialized procedures such as angiography or computed tomography (CT) scans.

Recording, analyzing, and interpreting x-ray images, and reporting results to the physician or radiologist.

Maintaining accurate and complete records of all x-ray examinations performed.

Participating in ongoing continuing education to keep current with changes and advances in x-ray technology and techniques.

Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or a related field.

Completion of a recognized x-ray technician training program or equivalent experience.

Current certification as an X-Ray Technician, such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as basic medical and radiology concepts.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical dexterity and ability to stand for long periods of time.

Ability to lift and move patients as needed.

This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
