We are searching for a Heavy Equipment Operator with CDL-A who fits this culture and is interested in joining our team in Redford Township, Michigan. If you are self-motivated team player who is driven to succeed and excited about a job well done, then you are who we are looking for.

The Successful Candidate will have/be:

  • Safely operate various types of heavy equipment and manage crews of various size on large and small projects.
  • Must have experience benching and sloping trenches and working with trench boxes.
  • Understanding of elevations, slopes and basic mathematical equations.
  • Knowledge of how to read and interpret project plans/blueprints, establish grade from owners plans, specifications and details.
  • Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites is required when not operating equipment including operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
  • Ensure operational readiness of the crew and equipment. This includes conducting pre-operational checks on vehicles/equipment and conducting on-the-job training for employees.
  • Inspect equipment for safety issues, determine if any parts are malfunctioning and document them on a daily & weekly basis.
  • Perform routine daily & weekly lubrication.
  • Maintain job and company specific documentation including daily field reports, service quality summaries, and all other necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed on site
  • Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
  • Must possess the ability to kneel, crouch, balance, club or crawl as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be eligible to obtain security clearance if needed.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license without restrictions in accordance with TSP’s auto insurance carrier and provide own reliable transportation.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator
  • HAZWOPER, OSHA 30 and Confined Space and Asbestos trained preferred.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Must pass a required company paid baseline health physical drug screening.

A current CDL Class-A is required.
