Job description
- Must be highly qualified and certified to teach in the state of Michigan.
- Must possess certification in Music Education, K-12, with JX or JQ endorsement.
- Instrumental emphasis preferred.
- Must use a varied repertoire per curriculum adopted by the Board of Education to accomplish State Benchmarks.
- Must demonstrate knowledgeable pedagogy on all instruments.
- Plan and organize daily class time appropriately to maintain standards of pupil behavior and provide a productive environment at all times.
- Participate in curriculum development and other faculty responsibilities.
- Demonstrate positive skills with parents, colleagues, and administration.
- A minimum of three concerts and MSBOA festival participation required.
- Have a strong desire to work with high school aged students.
- Willing to lead all ensembles offered at the high school, including the Marching and Pep Band.
- Provide instruction in both wind and string instruments.
