Deerwood Country Club is looking for a Part-Time Host to make a positive impact on our member and guest experience. Our Hosts greet our members and guests upon arrival, inform them of their wait time, escort them to their table, and bid them farewell as they leave. You are a natural people-person who can quickly build rapport with members and create a welcoming atmosphere. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities, you rely on your excellent organization and communication skills. The schedule for this position is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. p.m. shift and Saturday and Sunday a.m. shift. Pay is $9.00 per hour PLUS TIPS.

Qualifications:

• Must be naturally upbeat, outgoing, and friendly.
• Thrives in a hospitality environment and is highly focused on providing superior service.
• Capable of articulating thoughts and active listening in order to communicate effectively with teammates, members, and guests.
• Ability to use empathy to understand members’ and guests’ feelings and responding in the appropriate tone and manner.
• Previous host experience a plus.

Responsibilities:

• As the first and last impression of the Club experience for our members and guests, our host welcomes them to the club and greets them a fond farewell when leaving.
• Escorts members and guests to their seats in a courteous and friendly manner, offers our menu and informs them who will be their server.
• Focuses on members’ and guests’ needs while remaining professional and calm even when under pressure.
• Takes To-Go orders over the phone and through the online order system. Makes sure order is complete at pick-up.
• Maintains a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
• Answers the phone in a polite and professional manner and takes care of the caller or transfers them to a team member who can help them.
• Is on time and at the host stand at scheduled time.
• Maintains cleanliness of host stand.
• Advises manager of any member/guest complaints as soon as they occur.
• Contributes to an overall positive and collaborative team environment.
• Must be able to carry up to 30 pounds at shoulder height and move tables and chairs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Deerwood Country Club is a private equity country club in Jacksonville founded in 1960.
