Summary/ Objective:

Promote and encourage Turf Valley’s vision, principles, and standards in managing front office operations through the highest levels of professional conduct, integrity and performance excellence. Acts as the Manager on Duty in the hotel when Directors are not available.

Turf Valley is looking for a Front Desk Supervisor to work 2 pm - 11:30 pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and efficient guest registration, check out, guest service and telephone service, according to established hotel standards. Interact positively with guests and anticipate guests’ needs and take action to resolve problems to maintain high level of guest satisfaction and quality
  • Assist in the daily maintenance of room inventory status to achieve optimal levels of revenue while meeting and exceeding guest expectations
  • Be familiar with all hotel services and features, and local attractions, to respond to guest inquiries accurately. Promote all hotel services (spa, food & beverage, golf, memberships) to guests and potential guests.
  • Ensure accuracy of all paperwork, logs, journals
  • Have full knowledge of duties of all reporting positions, covering tasks as required, including working front desk, and performing night audit.
  • Other duties as assigned

MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

  • Understand and abide by Turf Valley and Rooms Division rules and regulations and instill knowledge and compliance for same in staff. Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff
  • Perform all HR-related functions to include interviewing, training, counseling, supervising and scheduling front office staff, including guest service agents, night auditors and bell staff. Oversee activities of cleaning staff
  • Manage the operations of guest services and ensure the achievement of hotel quality standards
  • Observe and detect signs of emergency or other sensitive situations, or of heavy hotel activity, remaining calm and alert and serving as a role model for all staff

SECURITY

  • Ensure and maintain procedures for hotel accounting, credit control and handling of financial transactions. Ensure and maintain procedures for security of monies and other hotel assets, guest safety and security and for fire evacuation and other emergency procedures
  • Maintain accurate lost and found records and incident reports, following hotel procedures

TEAMWORK

  • Communicate and coordinate regularly with other Turf Valley departments
  • Contribute to hotel-wide successes by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
  • Complete all delegated tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Director in a timely manner

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Long hours are sometimes required

Education and Work Experience:

  • AA Degree preferrable
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Front Desk Supervisor/Manager
  • Experience with property management systems
  • Proficient in English

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
