Position Description
A Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that the common areas of an apartment complex are clean, tidy, and well-maintained. The specific duties and responsibilities of an apartment housekeeper may vary depending on the size and complexity of the building and the requirements of the management, but generally include:
DUTIES:
- Cleaning and sanitizing common areas such as lobbies, hallways, stairways, gym, bathrooms, and pool furniture.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors
- Dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces
- Cleaning windows and mirrors
- Collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables
- Clean Apartment units upon move out to Starka standards, and by following communities cleaning punch list.
- Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the community and/or Starka Property Management.
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
- Follow all OSHA safety protocols.
- Pressure wash buildings, sidewalks and any other areas of community as needed to maintain clean appearance of community.
- Walk community daily with team to ensure grounds are always clean, neat, and all trash is removed.
- Clean exterior light fixtures
- Empty pet waste removal stations
- Ensure compactor area, enclosure and/or trash corrals are always clean.
- Perform preventative maintenance on the community and apartments as required including painting.
- Identify any issues regarding safety, hazardous conditions or maintenance needs within the community and make repairs/corrections as needed or report them to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Community Manager immediately.
- Complete annual Fair Housing training course
- Review monthly training course assignments with Community Manager to ensure that you are completing courses in a timely manner as assigned.
In addition to these duties, an apartment housekeeper may also be responsible for coordinating with maintenance staff to ensure that repairs and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are important qualities for a successful apartment housekeeper.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Driver’s License, dependable transportation, and the ability to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule.
- Ability to work varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm demeanor to diffuse and resolve any situation that may arise.
- Ability to manage and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly workload.
- Ability to operate all office equipment including a telephone system and computer
- Ability to utilize and demonstrate reasonable understanding of all computer software programs including but not limited to internet web browsers as well as any management software programs in use.
- Ability to operate a vehicle to perform company business.
- Job requires constant activity that entails intermittent standing, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting/moving carrying light to heavy weight material, climbing ladders/stairs etc.
- Ability to use repetitive motion of hands, wrists, elbows and fingers while utilizing computers and other equipment or writing as needed.
- Must have normal range of hearing, vision, color discrimination and depth perception for proper operation of machines, tools and equipment.
- Must have ability to complete tasks wearing safety equipment such as goggles, masks, gloves etc.
- Must have basic tools required to perform general maintenance

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
