Position Summary
The role of the EVS TECH I reports to the EVS Manager. This position is responsible for the daily cleaning of patient and non-patient areas. This position will have frequent interaction with staff, visitors, and patients. This position will spend 80% of the time standing and walking. This position will spend a majority of work time pushing and pulling medical equipment and the EVS supply cart (80%). This position will spend time reaching (50%). This position will lift and carry up to 50lbs, approximately 20% of work time. This position will occasionally climb ladders (10%). This position must have the ability to read, write, and speak the English language. This position has exposure to industrial strength cleaning chemicals, body fluids, and communicable diseases.

Responsbilities
  • Comply with proper handling and use of EVS chemicals and equipment
  • Ensure EVS supply cart is filled with necessary materials at the beginning and end of shift
  • Learn Teletracking software and use approved electronic devices
  • Collecting and properly disposing of trash and waste material
  • Replenish disposable items such as soap, paper towel, and toilet paper
  • Cleans and disinfects equipment and furniture
  • Cleans up spills
  • Dusts high areas
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment as needed
  • Provides positive interactions with patients, visitors, and staff

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED
Licensure and Certifications: N/A
Experience: Previous housekeeping experience in a hospital setting preferred
