Job Summary
The housekeeper is an entry-level position responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facilities (clubhouse, dining rooms, restrooms, childcare, fitness center, locker rooms, tennis, golf pro ship, administrative offices) to ensure a pleasant and sanitary environment is achieved in all areas of the facility. The housekeeper must be able to work under the guidance and direction of the clubhouse maintenance director; must be able to follow direction while effectively managing their workload while adapting to changes and re-evaluating their priorities throughout their shift; must be able to tolerate a significant amount of light moving and/or lifting; and must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and special events. Hours of operation fluctuate between 6:00 am and 9:00 pm, seven days per week; and will vary due to special circumstances or events.
Essential Duties
- Ensures continuity of service by ensuring all members areas are neat, clean, and free of trash, debris, and waste.
- Performs opening duties and closing duties and start and end of shift; turns lights on and off, prepares and stocks supply cart(s) and closet(s), returns and restocks cart at end of shift.
- Remove dust, stains, and marks from all furniture, baseboards, doors, windows, ledges, and corners. Dusts pictures, frames, and display cases.
- Polishes mirrors, glass, windows (interior and exterior), table surfaces, counters, shelves, desks, door handles, hand rails, and other fixtures.
- Cleans walls throughout the clubhouse removes spots from corridor walls and doors.
- Cleans member restrooms and employee restrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, counter tops, floors, furniture, fixtures); restocks all restroom amenities and supplies.
- Uses correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and club requirements.
- Vacuums carpets and sweeps and mops floors throughout the club including dining areas.
- Cleans and polishes brass.
- Cleans interior and exterior sides of windows.
- Reports any damage, burned out light bulbs, or maintenance and plumbing problems to supervisor.
- Inspects condition of planters and plants; waters plants and removes debris.
- Empties all wastebaskets and trash bins from offices and restrooms; takes trash to dumpster.
- Transports linen to and from the laundry room.
- Completes all other appropriate assignments made by supervisor.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training.
- Maintains a professional appearance and complies with uniform and dress codes.
- Assists in training other housekeeping staff as needed.
- Performs other related duties that may be assigned by a manager.
Physical Demands
- Frequent exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and cleaning chemicals. Infrequent exposure to bio-hazards. Must be able to read and follow directions and proper procedures for handling hazardous chemicals and materials in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Must be able to reach, push, pull, bend, and stoop; must be able to perform repetitive motion activities (walking, standing, kneeling, bending, crouching); excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must be able to comfortably lift, carry, move, push and pull up to 30 pounds, and stand on your feet for extended periods.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, and/or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of work experience as a housekeeping/cleaning attendant.
