Due to our continued growth, SalSon Logistics is seeking to add an experienced HR Generalist to our HR team.
Job Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for general HR administrative support, with a focus on benefits coordination and administration.
This is a full-time office role, located at our corporate headquarters in Newark, New Jersey.
Essential Job functions:
HR & Benefits Administration
- Ensure overall administrative support to the Human Resources department, Processing of new hire paperwork, and updating of employee information into ADP system
- Create & maintain all employee personnel files-including active and inactive files, distribute & collect new hire paperwork to/from prospective candidates
- Assist with the scheduling of upcoming training, lead new hire HR orientations in collaboration with other Departments, complete various data entry tasks, answering human resources phone calls and emails sent through the HR email queue and employee hotline, answer general HR inquiries
- Serve as back-up for overall Benefits Administration including Open Enrollment, Qualifying Events, etc. and ensure consistent follow-up with Brokers for Benefit inquires and/or claims resolution.
- Filing, faxing, scanning, copying, and mailing various correspondence, as needed
- When requested and directed by HR Manager and/or designated personnel, gather personnel files for any planned or scheduled audits (i.e. DOL, EEO, etc.)
- Prepare Employment Verification letters
- Assist with Unemployment and Disability claims
- Assist with FMLA and with W/C related matters
- Ensure a daily working relationship with all employees, supervisors and managers across all Terminals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- College degree preferred
- Bi-lingual spanish speaking preferred
- HR Certification SHRM or PHR a plus
- Previous Benefits experience 5 years (preferred)
- Previous experience working in a fast paced Human Resources Department 5 years (required)
- ADP Workforce Practitioner Experience required
Physical demands/Working Conditions:
- At times expected to sit at a desk/workstation
- Lifting, climbing stairs, walking, squatting, kneeling, bending, ability to drive/commute to other terminal locations upon request only as needed
