Gurwin Healthcare System is a full continuum of care providing extraordinary care and caring to the people that we serve. Set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs and on-site dialysis. Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences) and the newly built independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens). Our Gurwin Licensed Home Care Services Agency and Certified Home Care Agency has an office in Farmingdale, NY. Also, part of the Gurwin family is Island Nursing and Rehab Center, a 120-bed facility located in Holtsville, New York.
We are currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Assistant to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. This is a full time position Monday - Friday in our Commack, NY location.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or higher, preferred
- Proven experience as an HR assistant or relevant human resources position
- Strong computer skills
- Must be able to handle a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
- Must be able to multitask, and have a great attitude & excellent customer service skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with day to day operations of the HR Department
- Provide clerical support to the Chief People Officer and the Director of Human Resources
- Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues
- Answer/screen departmental phone calls and forward outside calls as necessary
- Input information into various HRIS systems
- Assist in the maintenance of the HR files including filing and auditing
- Prepare required on-boarding documents and meet with new employees
- Ensure all staff, contractor and vendors are COVID vaccinated/tested according to DOH regulations and provide statistics for dialy reporting of COVID information
- Track COVID vaccination status of all staff, contractors and vendors
- Data entry and maintenance of various HR spreadsheets
- Make photocopies, fax documents and perform other clerical functions as needed
