BRT, Inc. – a national bulk liquid products transportation leader in B2B logistics with 140+ Team Members, is currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support the operations of the Human Resources department. This position will report to the Sr. H.R. Manager and assist with various H.R. functions. The ideal candidate must have a passion for helping others and be able to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with people at all levels of the organization, with a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality
This will be a hybrid position after training, and as such, the candidate MUST live within a commutable distance to Parkesburg, PA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts new hire induction process, including new hire paperwork, orientation, and data entry
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leaves, productivity, recognition, and morale
  • HRIS maintenance using Paylocity
  • Processes new hire benefit enrollments
  • Assigns and tracks staff training through LMS
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Responds to past employment verifications
  • Oversees wellness program administration
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Assists with Team Member engagement initiatives
  • Assists with company event planning and execution
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Performs all duties in a timely and accurate manner
REQUIREMENTS:
  • To be successful in this role, a candidate should have at least 2 years of previous experience working with core competencies in an H.R. department
  • Must be a team player who can also work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Top-notch interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Excel
  • Paylocity experience preferred
  • College degree and/or HR certification preferred
  • Ability to be flexible and switch pace to handle priorities while maintaining the completion of other duties
  • A high degree of integrity, ability to be discreet, and adherence to confidentiality
