Summary
As part of the North America Human Resources team, you will join a group of HR professionals consulting with the wider organization, providing specialized support, mentorship and coaching to Leaders and Employees alike. Additionally, you will provide proactive HR support to dedicated teams across in North America while remaining in step with the global business unit and company activity.
You will collaborate with colleagues across specialist HR groups in the wider team (HR Operations, GTA, etc.), you will be implementing and delivering initiatives that make valuable contributions to the organization and ultimately to the success of BlackBerry.

Responsibilities
- Developing and handling client relationships effectively by leveraging the organization to provide seamless HR business partnering, ensuring the profile of the HR team is retained through visibility at the appropriate level in the organization through effective communication and awareness of HR initiatives
- Anticipating business requirements, thereby ensuring that the HR team contributes to the bottom line through development and delivery of appropriate people solutions, and understanding of commercial and business priorities
- Developing manager and leader capability through effective mentoring and partnership
- Coaching leaders through various people related matters such as organization development, growth, and change programs
- Mentor teams through HR Annual Cycle activity - Performance Review, Compensation Planning, Employee Survey, etc.
- Collaborating with HR Specialist teams to provide specific consultancy to Business Units, such as anticipating and planning for Succession and Leadership Development, Talent Management, Recruitment and Rewards
- Provide effective case management of complex and challenging people-related issues
- Provide counsel to the business to minimize any risk of litigation
Essential skills and qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in business, psychology, or a related field, and at least 7 years' demonstrable experience in an HR Business Partner role
- Experience working within a North American headquartered business with a fast-paced multi-cultural and constantly evolving environment
- Previous experience of partnering with technical as well as commercial groups, coupled with a solid understanding of the different challenges these teams face
- Experience of partnering with teams based in North America providing comprehensive HR support (including organization development, growth and change programs)
- Proven judgment, decision making and prioritizing skills
- Proven ability to be able to juggle several priorities whilst continuing to meet deadlines
- Proven history of dealing with complex ER issues
- In-depth, working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation
- Proven interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills, including ability to influence Leaders
- Significant HR operational experience within the high-tech industry, multi-country experience preferred
