Job description
Westport Construction is seeking an HR Coordinator. This person will provide support with screening and directing phone calls/inquiries, processing expenses, scheduling and coordinating meetings, maintaining calendar items, and processing incoming mail and correspondence. This position will be the first point of contact for employee inquiries and will properly direct matters to appropriate internal parties to coordinate quick and effective resolutions.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; directs more complex questions to Human Resources Manager or other management team member.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Continuously look for ways to improve processes and propose ideas related to assigned duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Training & Experience
- Minimum of 2+ year’s of experience in human resources or recruiting.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business discipline is strongly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of applicable training and experience may be substituted for education equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
