Rate of Pay: $25/ Hour

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Human Resources Coordinator to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.

Brief Summary of Job: Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Coordinator provides coordination and assistance for a variety of activities and functions for the Hotel within the Human Resources team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing
  • personalized service to our team members and guests.
  • Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
  • Maintaining complete and strict confidentiality of all department and company matters.
  • Assists in driving people services initiatives that embrace company culture and grow team engagement
  • Acting as a greeter by welcoming all calls and inquiries with a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Responding to inquiries regarding current and former team members as required.
  • Preparing a variety of correspondence and reports related to human resources programs, policies, and administrative tasks.
  • Monitoring hiring and recruitment processes for compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Assisting internal and external job seekers with online application process and position status inquiries. Respond to inquiries from candidates for employment regarding available positions, status of application and other general HR questions.
  • Maintaining recruiting applicant flow.
  • Assists Director of People Services in coordinating new hire background check orders.
  • Manages and coordinate taskforce leadership, maintains centralized files of contracts, and communications.
  • Assists in preparation for internal and external job fairs.
  • Assisting in creating and maintaining paperless electronic new hire/team member files and enter them into paperless Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Ensure that team member electronic files are set up and maintained in accordance with company standards and government regulations
  • Supporting the Director of People Services when needed to process new hires, including verifying necessary documentation required to bring on the first day of employment in order to complete the I-9 employment verification forms, name tag, uniform, and orienting new team members on Resort resources.
  • Assisting in supporting team member benefit activities, including providing general benefit information and education and assisting Director of People Services in planning and hosting Open Enrollment.
  • Assisting team members with UltiPro UKG access and login reset.
  • Assisting team members with Marriott EID information and how to utilize Marriott Explore Employee Room and Dining Discounts.
  • Assisting in processing department invoices.
  • Creating or updating Human Resource flyers, other flyers, bulletin boards and other posting locations.
  • Responsible for monthly team member birthday and anniversary cards, flyers, and coordinating with Culinary on monthly birthday and anniversary team member cake and celebration.
  • May assist the Training & Cultural Manager in decorates team member cafeteria for holidays.
  • Assisting with team member relations events and recognition. Prepares Employee of the Month, Manager of the Quarter, Employee of the Year, and Manager of the Year certificates. Coordinates special recognition parking. Orders leis. Orders paddles. Plans and prepares in-house meeting rooms requests for celebrations. Prepares agenda and presentation for Quarterly All Team Member Meetings. Plans and coordinates Team member Luncheon and Holiday Party. etc. Assists in planning of Housekeeping Week.
  • Complete all employment verifications in accordance with Pacific Hotels policy.
  • Takes notes and prepares minutes for Joint Labor Management Meetings and other department meetings.
  • Conducts New Hire Orientation in the absence of Director of People Services.
  • Maintaining complete knowledge at all times of: All hotel features/services, hours of operation and all department policies and procedures.
  • Partnering closely with other departments within the Hotel to provide and ensure highest quality service to customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

Knowledge/Education/Experience: Computer literate and highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Strong verbal and written communication skills. College degree or equivalent education and/or minimum two (2) years previous hotel/ hospitality or administrative experience required. Experience in a union environment is preferred.
