Human Resources Director
Bergstrom Automotive Headquarters - Neenah WI
The HR Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership of the company’s people strategy and continuous improvement of all related process and procedures. This person will lead the HR team and take ownership of HR efforts in areas that include but are not limited to recruiting, onboarding, development, diversity, engagement, retention, benefits, wellness, safety, issue resolution, ethics, legal compliance, and HRIS administration. This person will be a culture champion, promoting clarity and alignment with the organization’s cultural strategy through all levels of the organization.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
HR Leadership:
- Partners with executive leadership to deliver strategic HR solutions to achieve defined business goals.
- Directly responsible for leadership of the HR team.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Meets with brokers and/or vendors and compiles reports on effectiveness of programs, and relays the findings to executive leadership.
- Coaches and develops leaders to refine and grow people management capabilities.
- Researches, develops, recommends, and executes creative strategies to foster diversity, inclusion, and belonging goals.
- Updates and maintains the HR functions within the HRIS system (UKG Pro), including making sure file feeds are working correctly from the HRIS system to correct vendor, ensuring data integrity in HRIS database with daily maintenance of carrier files, resolving data errors, and updating data as needed.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, obtaining qualified opinions, enforcing internal adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Has consistent, timely on-site attendance during schedule hours and ability to work additional hours as needed.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned or required by business need.
Compliance Leadership:
- Investigate, research, and provide general advice and counsel concerning a broad range of compliance, questions, and circumstances that arise in the Company’s day-to-day business activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify and help manage Risk Management Program & Compliance Program.
- Research, review, draft, and/or amend HR-related policies and procedures and advise on potential implications from non-compliance with such policies and procedures.
- Assist in compliance with regulations governing benefit plans.
- Assist in and oversee the investigation of employee related matters (e.g., harassment, discrimination, leave, workers’ compensation).
- Establish and maintain relationships, credibility, and trust with guests, clients, stakeholders, and fellow team members; work collaboratively with these groups to respond to issues as they arise.
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the General Counsel.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 800a-500p and additional hours determined by business needs.
Pay: Salary pay structure based on experience, will be discussed in interview.
WHO'S RIGHT FOR THE JOB?
- Ten or more years of progressive HR experience
- Five years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations (ACA, ADA, ERISA, FCRA, FMLA, etc.)
- Degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
- Professional Human Resources certification is preferred
- Upbeat and positive personality
- Able to collect and interpret data-based measurements to demonstrate the effectiveness or failure of the recruitment system from position opening to onboarding
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Active listening skills
- Ability to provide excellent guest service
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with team members and guests
