Position Summary
The HR Generalist provides exceptional HR support to the Greenwich House team through his/her/their knowledge of all areas of HR. The HR Generalist assists in creating and coordinating various HR programs and initiatives, ensuring that HR is a trusted resource and collaborator for all. The successful HR generalist develops and maintains partnerships throughout the organization and maximizes HR best practices to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the organization's business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- To provide excellent service to management and employees in all facets of HR, including recruitment, talent development, benefit management, onboarding, and serving as an internal consultant to Greenwich House staff.
- Use the Greenwich House systems to generate regular reports for audits, benefits management and consolidation, compensation review, etc.
- Serve as a resource for employee relations issues, assisting managers in coaching, performance management and discipline, when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices.
- Drive change management, employee engagement, recognition programs, and company-wide HR initiatives for positive employee relations.
- Work with program units to ensure alignment between staff, programs, and HR.
- Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follow up to ensure that training objectives are met. Identify training needs for programs and supervisory staff.
- Manage benefits administration and vendor relationships, including ACA compliance and recommending changes when appropriate.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in a fast-paced executive/administrative office setting.
- Strong knowledge of computer and digital platforms and tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, as well as several Google tools including Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc. Knowledge of other tools is a plus.
- Qualifies as, or is willing to obtain licensing to become, a New York State public notary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field preferred. At least three to five years of Human Resource generalist experience required.
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven interpersonal, coaching and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues across all programs and sites, and outside partners and vendors.
- Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems. Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
