Your next opportunity awaits at FJ Management West, a Fletcher Jones Company. We are currently hiring a Human Resources Generalist to join our team.

The HR Generalist provides advice and support to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, recruiting, compensation, training and employee relations. Works within the assigned functional areas to provide HR expertise to the organization in all aspects of HR functions. Under general supervision, answers and researches routine and non-routine questions related to Human Resources and within certain limitations, interprets policy where clear cut procedures do not exist. Fosters the use of appropriate HR policies and practices and communication. Assists with the development of HR policies and performs HR analysis as required.

The HR Generalist is responsible for driving the development, implementation, administration, training, tracking and communication of all HR policies and programs including performance management, employee relations and HR related compliance. In addition, this role is critical in ensuring proper data governance and reporting, executing strategic project initiatives, defining and facilitating standard operating procedures, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

Pay Scale Information

$70,000 - $80,000 / year


Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain personal and professional credibility throughout the organization with management and employees as an effective listener, communicator, and problem solver who is responsive to and proactive about their needs.
  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
  • Ensure adherence with all Federal, State and local employment regulations.
  • Establish HR as an available and collaborative partner to executives and management who respond to them in a timely manner with accurate information, can answer their questions, guide them in management of staff, and provide advice and support to ensure legal compliance in all employee dealings.
  • Processes new hires, transfers, changes, termination, and extended leave forms. Ensures that all employee data including benefit and wages are accurately maintained in HRIS and other systems.
  • Prepares monthly HR and Payroll reports as needed
  • Acts as benefit administrator on all employee benefit programs providing employee assistance in enrolling, terminating and/or modifying coverage. Provides payroll with appropriate deductions, reviews and processes billing and account reconciliations.
  • Reviews time sheets to ensure employees are using the time and attendance system in accordance with company policies, partner with payroll to ensure process is completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Engage employees with potential Workers Compensation (WC) situations in a timely manner, and work with WC agents to ensure every case is handled, tracked, and resolved appropriately.
  • Conduct internal investigations as relates to employee complaints and/or litigation.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in HR required
  • HR Certification(s) highly preferred
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws required
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred or equivalent in experience
  • Excellent data entry and strong documentation skills
  • Ability to use computer and learn new software programs; must be proficient in office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive data
  • Proven ability to consistently and positively contribute in a fast-paced, changing work environment with the ability to prioritize multiple functions, tasks, and deadlines
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive data
  • Possesses ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
