Job Description
Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources function at the facility level. Implements all Human Resources Policies and Procedures. Manages facility employees in the provision of care and services rendered in accord with professional standards, and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Acts as an employee advocate by performing the following duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and reporting requirements are followed in compliance with corporate,
2. Recruits, interviews, tests, and assists department heads with selection of qualified employees to fill vacant positions legal and government requirements and reporting regulations
3. Prepare letters and rejection responses.
4. Schedules and participates in new employee orientation programs. Ensures that pre-orientation procedures are completed and that new hires are oriented in a timely fashion
5. Maintains appropriate records of benefit plan participation such as insurance and retirement plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics as required for government reporting.
6. Coordinates, schedules and may present training programs .
7. Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues (including steps 1 and 2 of the grievance process).
8. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
9. Administers and coordinates performance evaluation program to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
1. Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental, and disability insurance, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
2. Investigates employee incidents and accidents and prepares required reports and ensures timely reporting of all incidents.
3. Responsible for filling out and maintain all unemployment claims
4. Responsible for maintaining the OSHA log for the facility
5. Carries out Safety incentives and employee morale incentives in conjunction with administration
6. Co- chairs the monthly safety committee
7. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interview.
8. Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover with assistance from Regional HR
9. May be requested to represent facility at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
10. Assists with time keeping needs and enrollments of employees
11. Maintains a monthly employee newsletter
General Responsibilities
1. Observe all center safety policies and procedures.
2. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
3. Follow resident’s rights policies at all times.
4. Assume accountability for all data contained in employee handbook.
5. Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
6. Be responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision.
7. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience in human resources; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Experience in a nursing home or health care environment is preferred
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
