About us

We are a small family owned Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) company located in Sharpsburg, MD. The business was started in 1989 under the name of RW Harrell's Pump Service Inc. when Diane Harrell and Ronnie Harrell purchased a well pump and water system business from a gentleman that was retiring. Ronnie had worked in the HVAC field from the time he had graduated from high school so it was natural to add HVAC to the services that this new company would offer. The company was built by word of mouth, old fashioned value, and quality work and and continues to grow. We no longer install or service well pumps and water systems (as of 2020) and have focused on heating and air conditioning and continue to expand through commercial service.

We specialize in custom HVAC installations, add-ons and replacements, and service for residential and light commercial (mainly up to 25 Ton). Our main equipment brands are Trane and Fujitsu for residential and for commercial York, Trane, Carrier, and Lennox.

Seeking a Service Technician/Installer for routine maintenance, service, installs, and replacements. No experience is required. The position is available immediately. Our business hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm. Service Technicians are on call a week at a time approximately every 3 weeks. Our work is primarily located in the Washington County/Frederick County area and the Martinsburg area.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and safe performance of service calls, including routine maintenance, filter changes, part replacement, and miscellaneous service work.
• Ability to help with installation of equipment and duct work when needed.
• Ability to work effectively with technology.
• Communicate effectively with service team.
• Work nights/weekends and holidays as required when on call.
• Work effectively in a team environment and independently.
• Deal effectively and timely with customer issues.
• Communicate with customers.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• High school graduate or GED
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
• Ability to use available communication equipment (smart phone, tablet).
• 0 - 3 years of experience, industry background preferred. Willing to train if you have no experience.
• Climb into and out of a service van multiple times a day.
• Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders required.
• Ability to lift Freon jugs, replacement compressors, tools, etc.
• Ability to help maneuver equipment into place.
• Constant bending and lifting required.
• Ability to deal professionally and courteously with co-workers and customers.

Working Conditions

Must be able to work in all types of climates and conditions indoors and outdoors to include heat, cold, rain, snow and ice, including but not limited to crawl spaces, attics, roof-tops, etc.

Pay: $14.00 - $25.00 per hour
