McCain Food’s facility in Wisconsin Rapids/Plover, Wisconsin is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 500 employees. This site specializes in the production of french fries and mashed potatoes and produces roughly 3 million pounds of french fries a day!

Position Summary:

As the HVAC technician you will maintain all equipment dealing with building climate control, both on and off plant site.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Use complicated test equipment and tools to maintain all HAVC systems under slight supervision.

2. Conduct regular PM’s on equipment and record all checks per re-set schedules. Maintain accurate reports and records.

3. Understands the concepts and participates in the techniques of the quality process.

4. Perform all electrical wiring involved with HVAC including, removal and installation motors, starters, disconnects, compressors, fans, etc.

5. Responds to trouble calls routinely and efficiently.

6. Performing lubrication on factory assets will be required.

7. Must be able to perform all mechanical requirements for the removal and installation of all HVAC equipment.

Qualifications:

• Must have a solid background in servicing and repairing HVAC equipment.
• Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic control circuits relating to HVAC equipment.
• Requires constant care to avoid moderate damage to equipment and considerable care to avoid moderate damage of product and serious injury of self and others.
• Must have own tools to perform related tasks safely.
• Requires an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic and/or Sate Mechanical Journeyman certification or previous experience and demonstrated competency. In addition, candidate will possess basic electrical knowledge, electrical/instrumentation tech school credits, OJT, or millwright mechanic coursework taken 2008 or later, or previous experience with demonstrated competency.
• Must have good understanding of mechanical, electrical prints, schematics, wiring diagrams associated with field.

Physical Demand:

Constant: Walking, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, and twisting at the neck and waist. Walking up and down a flight of stairs. Requires a high degree of physical effort and occasionally working in awkward positions.

Exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
